This Hand Painted Antique Checkered Sewing Table is constructed from the heavy iron base of an old Singer sewing machine and a solid wood table top painted in a black and cream colored check pattern. The original wheels are inatact and functional on the metal base, and the wood table top is attached with screws and finished in a clear high gloss to protect the paint and give it some sparkle. The table is 29" high. The top is 17 1/4" x 26". The wheeled base measures 19" x 22 1/2". Scroll down to see a close up of the top. This piece makes a wonderful occasional table in any room in the house, with it's neutral colors and classic design lines. It is heavy, but easy to move because of the wheels. This piece effectively combines nostalgia from the past with the functional needs of today.
